Public Health

LiveWell Northwest Colorado

LiveWell Northwest Colorado, a project of the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Assocaiton, was formed in 2009 to reduce obesity in Routt County by introducing healthy eating and active living choices and empowering residents to select them.

Here are some tips to help you follow 5-2-1-0 (click on each link to read more)

Your best chance to avoid obesity is to stop gaining weight right now. Today, one in two Colorado adults are overweight or obese. If current trends continue, nearly 2/3 of Coloradans will be overweight or obese within the next six years

Check out these easy-to-use tools!

There is evidence to support the use of BMI in risk assessment since it provides a more accurate measure of total body fat compared with the assessment of body weight alone. Click Here for an easy to use BMI Calculator

Excess abdominal fat is an important, independent risk factor for disease. The evaluation of waist circumference to assess the risks associated with obesity or overweight is supported by research. Click Here to Calculate your Waist to Height Ratio

It’s important to understand that measurements aren’t the only factors in determining how healthy you are. Your lifestyle also plays an important role. Click Here to take a quick Behavior Quiz
